Junior Counselors
This is a unique opportunity for students in 5th grade (and 4th grade in the spring) to learn leadership, team building, and social skills. Junior Counselors work alongside school staff to ensure the safety of all superstar students during daily arrival and dismissal. As school-age leaders in traffic safety, Junior Counselors teach other students about traffic safety on a peer-to-peer basis and serve as models for younger children, who look up to them. Typically, teachers and principals appoint patrol members, who participate with parental approval. Our amazing counselor, Ms. Molina serves as the Junior Counselor advisor.
Junior Counselors help lead the morning announcements for school every morning with help from front office staff and special area teachers. They help lead our morning stretches and pledges (English & Spanish) before morning announcements each day. These are rotating positions to allow for many students to participate.
